I am excited to be displaying the work of many fine artist and writers, here, "Through My Window."
These are a couple of excerpts from Stephen's Artist Statement on his site.
"For my abstract paintings, it is all about strong, powerful, emotive colors. All of the other components of good image making must be present, but in my world, they all serve to explore and emphasize color. ...
Although I like to draw and sketch daily, I find that the best paintings do not come from a sketch, but from the creating process itself. Too many variables being predetermined stifle the life of the painting. I constantly am reading and learning about color theory, but when it comes down to the painting, I clear my mind of all the rules and theory and let intuition take over. ..."
Stephen's work has "steadily evolved from figurative to abstract for the past 15 years." While my favorites are some of the older abstracts, the larger and newer paintings are a sensational sensory explosion for the eyes and the imagination. Stephen has been kind enough to let me display some of the old with the new. Check out his web site for more information. Open your eyes and mind for the fireworks! -VCW
